You must register to avoid deactivation of your SIM Card.

We are now 15 million subscribers and growing potential customers as per DITO Telecommunity, advise and reminds to register their Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) cards starting Dec. 27, 2022.

And as a reward, subscribers who successfully register their SIM cards will receive 2 GB bonus data. The bonus data will be credited in 24 - 48 hours upon registration.

As per DITO, the New DITO subscribers must register to activate their SIM cards, while existing prepaid and postpaid users will be given 180 days or 6 months from the effectivity of the law to register their SIM cards.

To make this simple, we are all obliged to register our sim card started last Dec. 27, 2022. The Deadline for SIM card registration preliminarily set on 28 April 2023. Possibly maybe extended in the future.

I was able to do this about 8 minutes to finish it. Maybe yours will be lesser after you read this. It is just like a basic Sing-up.

  1. Any government-issued ID of the parent or guardian
  2. Consent of minor's parent or guardian to register the SIM card

Conclusion

SIM registration is mandatory. It adds a layer of security that benefits all Filipinos, this will significantly reduces spam and scam SMS messages. Fear not, as long as we are not doing any illegal activities.

Criminals can no longer take advantage of the anonymity provided by prepaid SIM cards. Soon, it will be easy for us report such unwanted calls or annoying SMS.

The deadline will be on 28 April 2023. But I guess, will be extended in the future.

More updates soon. Cheers!
